21 best ways to coach Running On A Broken Foot.In college I was on the cross country team. I had a stress fracture in 4 out of the 5 bones in my left foot. My doctors said that I should not run but of course, what do the doctors know? I was not going to miss regionals. So I ran, at about mile 2 of the 3.1 mile course my foot was throbbing and I slowed down considerably… there was my coach at the side line cheering me on… telling me I could do it just put my mind to it… but if I was in that much pain stop and withdraw from the race. At that moment I could see how proud she was of me to not want to let me team down by still running… I finished the race (not the best time ever) but I still qualified our team for state!
